The establishment of an office in Vietnam aligns with Seafrigo Group's global expansion strategy to strengthen its presence in key locations. The new office is located in Ho Chi Minh City, providing proximity to major ports, airports, and leading exporters of seafood and fruit.
The Vietnam operations will focus on both air and ocean logistics, supporting exports and imports. Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia, with an average GDP growth rate of 6% over the past 15 years, excluding the COVID-19 period when growth was 2.7%. The country has also established Free Trade Agreements with the EU and Asia-Pacific nations, making it a strategic hub for international trade.
Fabian Hautiere brings extensive experience to his role, having previously worked as National Key Account Manager at Kuehne Nagel, specializing in consumer goods. He also has a background in supply chain management, having served as Senior Supply Chain Manager for a fine food import company in Vietnam, where he has resided for 12 years.
Commenting on the new operations, Hautiere highlighted Vietnam's production of specialist products such as pangasius, shrimp, dragon fruit, and mangoes, which will be transported to global markets using Seafrigo's cold chain expertise. Drawing on his experience in the Vietnamese market, Hautiere stated that his familiarity with Seafrigo's services as a former importer made him well-prepared to lead the company's operations in the country.
The new office in Vietnam marks another step in Seafrigo's efforts to develop its logistics services in dynamic and strategically important markets.
