Tiktok boosts sales of Tasmanian cherries with live streaming to Asia

TikTok has emerged as a new platform for selling Tasmanian cherries directly to customers in Asia. Through live streaming, sellers are engaging with buyers in real-time, answering queries and facilitating immediate transactions. This method of sale, as highlighted by Chinese importer Jack Wang, has proven to be highly effective, with a single TikTokker capable of selling over 1,000 boxes of cherries in under an hour. The process ensures the delivery of fresh cherries straight from Tasmanian orchards to the buyer's doorstep.

Jack Wang, who has temporarily relocated to Tasmania's Huon Valley to collaborate with Lucaston Park Orchards owner Matt Griggs, oversees the selection and packing process to ensure rapid shipment to mainland China. This partnership leverages the efficiency of express delivery services in China, promising delivery times within 48 hours. The appeal of Tasmanian cherries on TikTok, particularly their size, shine, and red color, has been significant, especially with the approaching Lunar New Year, a peak season for Australian fruit producers.

The collaboration between Wang and Griggs exemplifies the potential of social media platforms like TikTok in transforming traditional fruit-selling methods. This innovative approach not only captures significant attention but also accelerates the excitement surrounding Tasmanian cherries. With the capability to deliver fruit across China swiftly, the partnership underscores the value of freshness and quality in driving consumer demand, setting Tasmanian cherries apart in the competitive market.
