New lifestyles and household routines make the consumption of ready-made or quick meals increasingly necessary. Over the years, the demand for fresh-cut products has increased especially from supermarkets and the H&R sector so, in order to remain competitive, it is necessary to have the right tools. This is why, last November, PND presented the PWS wedger, which enables one to instantly obtain fresh-cut products.
Providing more information on the subject is Virginia Cascella, export manager of PND, a company that has always invested in innovation and quality to create new high-performance systems.

Pumpkins, melons, and watermelon
"At PND, we are leading producers of fruit and vegetable processing machinery. In line with our company policy, we have developed this manually-fed machine dedicated to pumpkins, melons, and watermelons with peel. The machine, which is made of AISI 304 stainless steel, is equipped with a synchronized two-button start system and two product exit belts, after which packaging or further cutting can follow."
The PWS is made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel
"The PWS is user-friendly and exclusively mechanical: it therefore requires neither air nor water and is particularly easy to handle during both maintenance and cleaning," continues Cascella. "Operators load the fruit by pressing the two buttons and activating the cutting head. From this moment on, it is possible to obtain 2 to 8 wedges depending on the requirements, which are then gently placed on two exit belts without compromising the physical and organoleptic integrity of the product."

Thanks to its experience in the field, PND has extensively worked on machine safety through specific barriers. For the company, reliability means providing customers with concrete and, above all, functional solutions. All components are replaceable and both the cutting body and the fruit holder are easily interchangeable.
PND has been offering customized line completion solutions to suit all requirements, as well as a fast and effective customer care service covering all latitudes for over 25 years.
