Bercy Foods is joining its sister companies at this year's CPMA show in Montreal on April 8-10.
At the event, the company will unveil a new product in the New Product Showcase and offer tastings at its booth. As a large broccoli processor on Canada's east coast, the company believes that no food should go to waste. While processing broccoli, the company noticed something troubling: perfectly good stalks—rich in vitamins and flavor—were being composted.
The slaw comes in two flavors: creamy and traditional.
That led to the creation of Verdania's Broccoli Slaw Salad, which was born from the company's commitment to sustainability. By giving a second life to broccoli stalks that would otherwise be composted, the company is turning food waste into a fresh, flavorful opportunity. By incorporating broccoli stalks into a ready-to-eat salad, the company is making sustainability delicious and impactful.
For every 454-gram container, the company rescues 227 grams of broccoli stalks, saving 79 liters of water, and reducing its carbon footprint by 249 grams of CO₂e.
Show attendees are invited to stop by booth #2515 (Courchesne Larose's booth) to try this new product. Available in two flavors, creamy and traditional, Verdania's Broccoli Slaw Salad works for today's fast-paced, eco-conscious lifestyle.
