Azerbaijan increases revenue from fruit and vegetable exports

In January–February 2025, Azerbaijan exported 100,399 tons of fruits and vegetables, generating a total revenue of $108.99 million, according to the State Customs Committee, as reported by Vesti.az.

The volume of exports increased by 9.6%, while revenue saw a 15.3% rise compared to the same period last year.

Among the key export products, hazelnuts accounted for 4,045 tons, valued at $28.12 million. This marks an increase of 23% in monetary terms ($5.27 million) and 6.6% in volume (249 tons) compared to January–February 2024, when Azerbaijan exported 3,796 tons of hazelnuts worth $22.85 million.

The average export price of 1 kg of hazelnuts in the reporting period was 11.82 AZN (€6.35), reflecting a 15.5% increase compared to the 10.23 AZN (€5.50) per kg recorded in early 2024.

Azerbaijan also exported 41,831 tons of persimmons in January–February 2025, generating $30.48 million in revenue. Compared to the same period last year, persimmon exports grew by 15.6% in value and 25.5% in volume.

For comparison, in January–February 2024, Azerbaijan exported 33,331 tons of persimmons, valued at $26.38 million.
