10-hectare apple orchard established in Ukraine

The Ukrainian company Agroprodservis has begun the process of planting an apple orchard in the village of Nastasiv, located in the Ternopil region. The orchard will cover approximately 10 hectares.

According to recent news, the company plans to plant 29,800 apple trees, primarily consisting of the Granny Smith and Jeromine varieties, imported from Italy. Before planting, the soil was enriched with manure, and deep tilling was performed. This preparation allowed the land to rest over the winter before trenches were dug and the planting began.

Workers plant about 3,000 saplings per day. The expected drop in temperatures will not pose a threat to the trees, as these are late varieties that are resistant to cold weather.

The first harvest of apples is expected to be collected in the fall of this year.
