"At this year's CPMA show in Montreal, we'll specifically highlight and call out our Canadian grown produce items," says Geoff Kosar with Mastronardi Produce. An example is an exciting new program, SUNSET Summer Delight™ Strawberries. Although Mastronardi, a family-owned company of more than 70 years, wants to highlight the many locally grown products in its offering, the focus will continue to be on offering the best flavor and best product, no matter where the greenhouse is located.

Canadian Greenhouse grown Romas
Mastronardi will also be introducing a new, Canadian high-tech Roma tomato program at CPMA. A significant amount of greenhouse acreage was put into production in the past year and the program will be coming on stream in the next month, providing consistent supply. "Offering locally grown Roma tomatoes with a focus on quality and flavor is something we're very excited about," Kosar said. The new Marzano Romana brand will be featured in Montreal.
This year, Mastronardi Produce celebrates over 30 years of the iconic Campari® cocktail tomato, the first branded tomato in North America. CPMA show attendees will get an exclusive preview of the new celebration packaging and the fun consumer promotions planned for later this year. "We have a whole host of marketing programs we will be launching in the 3rd and 4th quarter to celebrate Campari's anniversary."

BOMBS Squad
Another product that will be featured is BOMBS® Squad™, the newest member of the award-winning line of BOMBS tomatoes. This package features a medley of different premium on-the-vine BOMBS snacking tomatoes in one package, ranging from BOMBS ultra-sweet to savory varieties. When the BOMBS line was first launched 10 years ago with the Flavor Bombs® variety, it quickly grew a fanbase among consumers and retailers. "The consumer demand has been tremendous, and this new medley will allow consumers to discover and learn about the different varieties as well."
Mastronardi keeps on launching new and innovative products. "While the category continues to grow, there's not room for hundreds of new brand entrants every year. In response to consumer demand, we do phase out products and are always looking to push the envelope and identify different areas to innovate," Kosar shared.
Stop by the Mastronardi/SUNSET® booth 807 at the CPMA Convention and Trade Show in Montreal from April 8-10 to learn more about this flavorful collection of products and meet the team.
