Central Plains Group starts 2025 potato planting in Lviv

Central Plains Group (CPG), based in the Ukrainian Lviv region, has initiated its 2025 agricultural cycle, according to a company announcement on Facebook. On March 27, CPG commenced its potato planting activities. "The potato planting season started at CPG," the company noted.

For 2025, CPG plans to cultivate 1,300 hectares, including chip, starch, table, and seed potatoes. The group has been active in the Lviv region since 2006, initially cultivating potatoes on 100 hectares alongside grains, rapeseed, and sugar beets.

In 2021, a potato storage facility with a capacity of 23,000 tons was launched in the region. The subsequent year saw the establishment of a starch plant near Lviv, capable of processing 10,000 tons annually. Typically, the potato cultivation area spans 1,000 hectares.
